On November 25, Wanhua Chemical announced that the environmental protection acceptance of the 150,000 tons of modified functional plastics project of Wanhua Chemical (Ningbo) Co., Ltd. has been completed.

Project name: 150,000 tons of modified functional plastics per year

Project construction location: No. 1, Weier Road, Daxie Development Zone, Ningbo (currently renumbered as No. 8, Weier Road, the location remains unchanged

Construction

Total investment: 374.84 million yuan; actual total investment: 350 million yuan.

Environmental protection investment: 9 million yuan; actual environmental protection investment: 10.815 million yuan.

Wanhua Chemical (Ningbo) Co., Ltd. (New Materials Park) applied for the first pollutant discharge permit in April 2024. The pollutant discharge permit number is: 913302017843277484002P. The trial operation of the project was started in April 2024, during which the operation of various environmental protection facilities was basically stable. Wanhua TPU

In August 2019, the company commissioned Zhejiang Renxin Environmental Science Institute Co., Ltd. to compile the environmental impact of this project. The impact report form was submitted, and on October 12, 2020, the review opinion of the Ningbo Daxie Development Zone Ecological Environment Bureau (Ecological (2020) No. 8) was obtained.

The scope of this acceptance is 8 extrusion granulation lines that have been built, forming an annual production scale of 94,000 tons of modified functional plastics, mainly 44,000 tons of modified polypropylene (PP), 36,000 tons of modified polycarbonate (PC) and 14,000 tons of modified nylon (PA). This is the environmental protection acceptance of the completion of the 150,000 tons of modified functional plastics project (first) of Wanhua Chemical (Ningbo) Co., Ltd.

The first phase of the project started in October 2020 and was debugged from April to December 2024. At present, the main production facilities and environmental protection facilities of the first phase of the project are operating normally, and the conditions for the completion acceptance of environmental protection facilities are met.
