The June price increase letter from major plastics manufacturers also arrived, inclouding a variety of plastic categories such as ABS, PC, and PS etc.

▶On June 3, SABIC announced that due to the increase in main raw materials and transportation costs, the prices of some products have been raised:

LEXAN™ (PC) resin increased by US$0.13/kg (about RMB 941/ton);

CYCOLOY™ (ABS) resin increased by US$0.15/kg (about RMB 1,086/ton).

This price notice will take effect on June 17, 2024.

▶Japanese plastic company PS Co., Ltd. announced on the 3rd that it has decided to increase the price of all grades of PS products under the company from the start of shipment on July 1, with a price increase of more than 19 yen per kilogram (about RMB 886/ton).

In addition, the price increase letter also mentioned that the reason for this price increase is that the prices of naphtha and benzene, the main raw materials of PS, have risen sharply, resulting in tight costs for the company, so it had to propose this price increase.

▶In June, Tosoh Japan issued three price increase letters:

On June 5, it was announced that the price of all grades of PPS resin "Sasteel®" of the company would be increased by more than 40 yen/kg when it was shipped on June 17, 2024;

On the same day, it was announced that the price of vinyl chloride resin products of its subsidiary Ocean Chloride Vinyl Company would be increased by more than 17 yen/kg (about RMB 785/ton), and the price would be increased from the delivery part on July 1;

On June 10, it was announced that the price of all products of the company's polyurethane raw material MDI would be increased by more than 45 yen/kg when it was shipped on June 17, 2024.

With the arrival of the global oil consumption peak season, international oil prices may show a trend of fluctuating recovery in June. Although from the fundamental point of view, the domestic downstream demand for chemical industry is gradually entering the off-season; but from the situation of the concentrated release of various stimulus policies in May, it is not ruled out that the policy side will continue to increase in June. Some major overseas manufacturers have already raised prices for spot products such as ABS, PC, and PS, and the domestic market may follow suit. . .
