SABIC wins R&D 100 Award for the fourth consecutive year, and two innovative technologies are recognized internationally

Recently, Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) won the 2024 R&D 100 Award again for its cutting-edge innovative technologies. SABIC LNP™ STAT-KON™ Highly Conductive Composites and LNP™ THERMOTUF™ and THERMOCOMP™ Fireproof Materials were both shortlisted for the finals. In the end, LNP™ STAT-KON™ Highly Conductive Composites stood out from 141 shortlisted projects and won the Mechanical/Material Category Award. This is also the fourth consecutive year that SABIC has won the R&D 100 Award, and its technological innovation strength has been recognized by the industry again.

This year's R&D 100 Awards received entries from 16 countries and regions. After strict screening by a jury of 56 global industry experts, the world's most innovative technologies, products and materials were finally selected.

LNP™ STAT-KON™ high conductivity composite materials are mainly used in electrode plates in energy storage battery manufacturing. Compared with traditional metal materials, this high conductivity composite material has the following advantages:

Lightweight: reduce the weight of the energy storage system and improve overall efficiency

Cost advantage: replace traditional metal materials and reduce production and processing costs

Efficient production: support mass production of electrode plates, suitable for traditional and renewable energy power generation systems

SABIC's innovative fireproof material technology demonstrates its wide application potential in the automotive and consumer electronics fields. The proposal includes two parts:

LNP THERMOTUF WF0087N for consumer electronics
